Get to know Rebecca.
I have always had a passion for working in the helping profession. After a long career as a teacher, I wanted to pursue a different path that allowed me to work with the community in another way. I chose to return to school, getting my Masters in Counseling from CSU Fullerton and focusing my field studies in working with trauma survivors.
My specialization is working with survivors of sexual abuse and other traumas from the past. In my practice, I work with clients of all backgrounds - from adolescents to adults, both male and female – as they address struggles like depression, anxiety, and relationship challenges. I am also an experienced practitioner of couples counseling, helping couples deepen their bond and find greater intimacy in their relationship.
My approach to therapy is collaborative in nature, with a strong focus on empowering my clients. I use an integrated blend of Narrative therapy and Cognitive Behavioral therapy, which helps clients to externalize their problems while also building coping skills to deal with the here and now. I work with clients of all backgrounds, adolescents to adult, and all sexual orientations and gender identifications.
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (License #82926) and a member of International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation (ISSTD), CAMFT, and OC-CAMFT. In my free time, you will find me spending quality time with my family and many pets.
